Out Now

MOSAICS return with their heartfelt new single Sing Me To Sleep, marking the first glimpse of their anticipated debut EP A Guiding Lie, set for release in 2026.

The London outfit have steadily built a reputation for fusing 90s rock revivalism with the shimmer of contemporary indie, observational lyricism and biting guitar work, an approach that has already landed them TV syncs on shows such as Killing Eve, This Morning, Sunday Brunch, Obsession, Marriage and The Outlaws, as well as a collaborative single with James McCartney that generated feverish momentum throughout 2024.

Produced by George Lloyd-Owen (asst. Nick Cave, The Last Dinner Party, Yungblud), mixed by Luie Stylianou (Judas Priest) and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Matt Colton (The Cure, Arctic Monkeys, Fontaines D.C.), Sing Me To Sleep sees MOSAICS exploring the more vulnerable edges of their songwriting, drawing emotional parallels with The Goo Goo Dolls’ classic “Iris.” The track opens with strummed acoustic guitars and heartfelt vocals that weave around the central chords, gradually building with shimmering, modulation-tinged guitar lines as it unfolds into an anthemic chorus.

As the song moves into the second verse, warming bass, delicately muted drums, and subtle keys layer in, setting the stage for a euphoric second chorus as the vocals soar into a punchy instrumental break, where the guitars grow more distorted and tremolo-laden. The track closes with an expansive, expressive guitar solo, punctuated by a sharp, resonant delivery of the song’s title.

The result is an intimate yet stadium-ready indie-rock tapestry, rich with soaring vocal melodies, driving rhythms, and shoegaze-inflected guitars, paying homage to the wistful yearning of 90s alt-rock while nodding to the influence of Feeder and Radiohead.

Speaking about the single, lead vocalist Owen Castillo explains:
“Sing Me To Sleep was written earlier this year with an overwhelming feeling of disillusionment with life. The lyrics capture a desperate need for escape in the face of an increasing apathy towards the trappings of modernity. When Stu and I sat down to write after a couple months away, this song pretty much fell out of the sky, almost as if it was everything we’d been holding in during that time but couldn’t express through any other medium. It’s about reaching desperately for the comfort from some unarmed third person, whilst processing (or struggling to process) a deeply held sense that something is not right, and probably hasn’t been for a while.”

Guitarist and fellow songwriter Stu offers further insight into the creative process, reflecting on the band’s rural recording retreat:
“In late June we piled into my car and set off from the city to record our debut EP with our close friend and talented engineer/producer George Lloyd-Owen. We truly had the best time, opting to turn our phones off and shut the world out for the duration of our time in the countryside (aside from watching Glastonbury coverage after finishing our takes, of course).

These were some of the best moments we’ve ever had in the studio and credit to George our engineer for making the whole process so smooth, getting the best out of each of us as musicians – always pushing us when they felt our parts could have more flair, or just needed to serve the song in a different way. Thank you George, especially for not getting frustrated when I went on tangential quests in the eternal pursuit of the most ethereal tones.”

Sing Me To Sleep emerges after the band’s biggest year to date, sold-out headline shows including a standout night at Camden Assembly, a finals placement in the Isle of Wight New Blood competition (narrowed from 5,000 entrants), and a sold-out UK tour supporting Reverend and the Makers.

Deeply personal and sonically expansive, MOSAICS’ new single captures the fragile tension of navigating an uncertain future and the human longing for reassurance that may never arrive. It’s a soaring, introspective step forward from a band whose momentum is building rapidly towards the release of their new EP.

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital.
