Lovejoy have taken a couple of tracks from the 2024 celebrated …And It’s Love! and released them digitally and as a limited 7″

Releases from the Spinout Nuggets label continue to come fast and furious, with this limited physical release (also available to download. Following on from the recent single, Let There Be Love, come one remix, and one alternative mix of a tracks from the recent album. This single makes a perfect accompaniment to the album but also stands on its own feet as a joyful and upbeat indie-dance floor filler.

First up, we have the Modduo Remix of ‘Nothing Stays The Same’. Modduo are the legends Nasser Bouzida (Big Boss Man, The Bongolian, etc) and Lee Grimshaw (the Spinout Nuggets head honcho), who tucked themselves away at Beat Mountain Studio, Newbury, tweaking, squeaking, leaking, giving the track even more Balearic-ness. With additional bongos and Moog by Nasser Bouzida, and percussion by Lee Grimshaw. (Grimshaw is making a bit of a name for himself after also being invited to add ‘live’ percussion to Jetstream Pony’s session recorded for Riley and Coe at 6 Music!) The more I listen to it the more it gives me late 90’s A Certain Ratio vibes…

Secondly, we have the Bent Fabric Mix of the title track, ‘…And It’s Love!’, re-mixed by Julian Tardo and Richard Preece at Church Road Studio, Hove. It really takes the track somewhere else creating a pulsing and shimmering piece perfect to soundtrack the warm summer nights.

Lovejoy will be making a rare live appearance, appearing with The Perfect English Weather at The Folklore Rooms in Brighton on Wednesday 30th July. Tickets available here

A Plea From Louder Than War

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
