Inca Babies announce Reincarnation album:

Manchester’s own post punk – death rock pioneers, Inca Babies have announced their forthcoming Reincarnation album which will be released via Black Lagoon Records on the 28th November 2025.

Ahead of the full album they have released Candy Mountain alongside a road-tripping video that escapes the urban sprawl for the hills of North Wales.

The album, a selection of the bands extensive back catalogue has been re-invented, reincarnated for the times we live in.

Led by Harry Stafford Inca Babies were a vibrant part of Britain’s early postpunk / death-rock scene with five intensive years of touring, six singles and four albums (all in the UK Indie Charts). After four sessions for BBC’s legendary John Peel show in 1984-1988, the band called it quits. They reformed in 2007, have released a further five albums; the most recent being Ghost Mechanic Nine in 2024 (LTW Review).

Of Reincarnation Stafford stated “Looking through our back catalogue, it occurred to me that there were tracks that should again be made available in some manner and others that would benefit from reinvention. Last year’s Ghost Mechanic Nine album was an opportunity to create new music for our fans, who would like this music in the form of digital downloads and, for the truly hardcore, as a 12” Vinyl Album

But it was also a realisation that we could invigorate old tunes. We already had a ‘best of’ compilation in Plutonium, released in 2006, so we embarked upon a new quest, to inject new life into our favourite back catalogue. This whole project was to be an Innovative re-imagining of old tunes: re-invented for contemporary consideration. All of them Re-awakened and ‘Re-inca-rnated’.

A Plea From Louder Than War

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
