John E Vistic: Deathgasm
DL | Stream
After a brief foray into the world of meditative and melancholy acoustic, one of Louder Than War’s favourite eclectic rock’n’roll warriors John E Vistic reverts back to his punk rock roots with his new single, Deathgasm. And as the first taster from his forthcoming album, there is little doubt that John is out to blow our collective minds and absolutely nails it with his first shot.
Not a man to let the grass grow under his melting pot of noise and destruction, John E Vistic roars back into the darkened furrows of a punk infused cataclysm of noise with his new single Deathgasm. It’s the first single to be take from John’s next album also entitled Deathgasm which promises much more of the same visceral punk rock attitude.
Deathgasm is named after the movie of the same name and, as a comedy horror supernatural dark fantasy film which takes two bored teenagers into a mysterious world of black magic whilst summoning a sinister ancient being, this provides the ideal inspiration for the song. However, John turns the song into a story of survival as the “one man army” battles the dark forces and demons. The aural assault takes it right back to John’s punk rock roots with its intense wall of noise, as distorted riffs battle with a huge slice of punk rock energy as the dark and confrontational narrative unfurls.
With the album already in the works, we can expect more of the same very soon. Meanwhile John E Vistic celebrates the launch of the single on 17th October with a gig at Rough Trade in Bristol alongside Erotic Secrets of Pompeii who are launching their own album Pitchfork Libra, with tickets available from here.

A Plea From Louder Than War
Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.
To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
